A Beautiful Love Tragedy or Story?

This is the inspiring love story of a youthful handsome man and a beautiful young girl, who fell in love.

 

However the young man was born into a shabby household.  The girl’s parents were not particularly overjoyed.

 

So the young man made up his mind to court the girl as well as to court her parents too.  In time, the parents observed that he indeed was an excellent man of good morals and was worthy of their little girl’s hand.

 

Alas there had to be yet another complication: The man happened to be a soldier. Soon, war broke out and he was sent overseas for a few years. The week prior to his departure, the man knelt on his knee, asking the the girl whom he loved dearly, “Will you marry me and be with me the rest of our lives?” She shed a tear, said yes, and they got engaged. They concurred that when he returned – they would wed.  The man wanted his love story to inspire other lovers.

 

Lo and behold a misfortune struck. A couple of days after he left, the girl had met with a tragedy. She was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle.

 

When she roused in the hospital, she was surprised her parents were weeping. At that instance, she realized that something very wrong was had happened.  Has her inspiring love story been shattered?

 

She later on discovered that she had suffered from a bran injury. The part of her brain that controlled her facial muscles had been severely damaged. Her once lovely face was now disfigured. She cried as she saw herself in the mirror. “Yesterday, I was beautiful. Today, I’m a monster.” Her body was also covered with so many ugly wounds.

 

Right there and then, she decided to release her fiancé from their promise. She knew he wouldn’t want her anymore. She would forget about him and never see him again.

 

For one year, the soldier wrote many letters—but she wouldn’t answer.   He telephoned her many times but she wouldn’t return her calls.  He was despondent, and his inspiring story of love was no more.  He had to find his new courage, and he was desperate for help.

 

But after one year, the mother walked into her room and announced, “He’s back from the war.”

 

The girl shouted, “No! Please don’t tell him about me. Don’t tell him I’m here!”

 

The mother said, “He’s getting married,” and handed her a wedding invitation.

 

The girl’s heart sank.  She knew she still loved him—but she had to forget him now.  So he has found a new love inspiring story – but without her.

 

With great sadness, she opened the wedding invitation.

 

And then she saw her name on it!

 

Confused, she asked, “What is this?”

 

That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet of flowers.  He gently knelt beside her and asked, “Will you marry me?”  It was the same request he had made before he had left to fight for the war.

 

The girl covered her face with her hands with disbelief and said, “I’m ugly!”

 

The man said, “Without your permission, your mother sent me your photos. When I saw your photos, I realized that nothing has changed. You’re still the person I fell in love.  You’re still as beautiful as ever.   You are the only inspiring love story for me.  Because I love you!”
